Recruiting: OU commit checks out Norman

Sequin, Texas defensive back Desmond Jackson talks about his official visit to Norman.

Desmond Jackson, CB, 5-11, 187, SEGUIN, TEXAS:

JH: How was your official visit to OU?

DJ: "I really enjoyed it. It was fun. Taking the visit with Cory Wilson, Travis Wilson's little brother, I really enjoyed it."

JH: Since you had already committed to OU before the visit, what do you hope to see or learn about OU that you didn't know before?

DJ: "I wanted to see how the campus was set up. I wanted to visit with the students and see how the people were. I wanted to experience the game atmosphere with the football team and see if they were a family-type atmosphere. I really enjoyed myself and had a good time."

JH: You really had never seen much of OU before had you?

DJ: "No, not really. All the players were down there and I enjoyed hanging out with them. I really liked everything about the players and the campus."

JH: What did you think of the game (MTS) and how the secondary played?

DJ: "The game wasn't competitive or a tight game, but the team played well together defensively and played as one unit. I watched Reggie Smith a lot in the secondary because I think my game is a lot like his."

JH: Are you playing safety or corner?

DJ: "I play both."

JH: Do you think you will play corner at OU?

DJ: "I don't know, I bet I play both."

JH: How is your season going?

DJ: "It is going real well. We are 2-1 and we play Friday."

JH: How is your individual season going?

DJ: "It is going real well. I have 17 solo tackles, one pick and two pass break-ups. I have also returned one punt for an 85-yard touchdown. That was nice to get that punt return."

JH: How do your family, friends and classmates feel about your commitment to OU?

DJ: "It feels real good. A lot of people congratulate you and tell me that they are happy for me. I don't have a big head and I have to work, so that I won't feel too good about myself because so many people are congratulating me all the time. I am really happy that I am going to be a Sooner."
