Recruiting: Scott liked OU-Texas atmosphere

Dallas, Texas safety Christian Scott talks how the OU-Texas game might help the Sooners' chances.

Christian Scott, S, 6-0, 195, 4.5 DALLAS (SKYLINE HS), TEXAS:

JH: Did you go to the OU/Texas game on Saturday?

CS: "Yes I did. I had a great time."

JH: What did you think about the game and the atmosphere of the game?

CS: "I thought it was a good game although OU made a couple of mistakes there at the end that cost them. But I thought it was a good game."

JH: What did you think of the atmosphere surrounding the game with the fans of both teams split down the middle, and the fact it is played in the middle of the Texas State Fair?

CS: "It was my first time, but with all the fans and the fair it was like no other game that I have ever been to. The fans were fantastic and they were good football fans. A couple of years ago I went to the Texas A&M and Virginia Tech game and it was sort of like that. But the OU/Texas game was very special to watch."

JH: Did you go to the fair much?

CS: "We really didn't walk around the fair. We just went from the car to where the recruits were supposed to meet and that was it."

JH: Have you set a visit to OU yet?

CS: "No, I haven't."

JH: Have you set any visits at this time?

CS: "No, I haven't. I am working on that now."

JH: Will the opportunity to play in this game have any affect on your decision?

CS: "Oh yeah, it does a lot. While I was watching the game, I noticed that the players were really in there getting after it. I was saying to myself that I can't wait to get into that kind of game and that kind of atmosphere. I think I would fit in well with that kind of game."

JH: What is the latest in recruiting?

CS: "It is still the same. What I am trying to do now is set up visits with schools. I am trying to set visits with OU, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida State and I am going to try to set one with Oklahoma State."

JH: Do you have a favorite?

CS: "No, I don't, not yet."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

CS: "I can't wait to get up there and take my official. I have visited their unofficially and I hope on my official I can meet more of the players and more of the coaches. I had fun on my unofficial and I know I am going to have more fun on my official."

JH: How is your season going?

CS: "We came up short in our last game to Mesquite Horn, 12-0. We are now 3-2 and we start our district play this week. I went both ways this game and had a good day at receiver with eight catches for 114 yards. We would start driving and then turn the ball over and get a penalty that would shut down the drive."
