Oklahoma's opponent tonight is not your average exhibition cupcake. Lake Truck, a traveling squad of former college and WNBA players, improved to 2-0 in their 10-game college tour Tuesday night with a 78-73 win at Duquense. They began their slate with a 78-66 win over Houston on Sunday.
They are led by several former college stars and five players with WNBA experience, such as UCLA's Nikki Blue, Tennessee's Brittany Jackson and Virginia's Brandy Teamer. Center Ke Ke Hardy and forward Chelsea Grear also have played in the WNBA. However, Blue is the only Lake Truck player who played in the WNBA last season averaging 2.3 points for the Washington Mystics. Blue also played for UCLA against the Sooners in Norman last year scoring 23 points in a losing effort.
The Sooners are 13-0 in exhibition games since 2000. The game will also be played with two new experimental rules — a 10-second backcourt rule and the 3-point line will be moved back nine inches.

They're guys who are wanting to be seen and they play a circuit of about 15 games in 16 games, but it serves a purpose. They give college teams like ourselves a very good competitive game, and then they also get an opportunity to be seen by WNBA scouts and sort of earn their way into a position in the league.
Nikki Blue from UCLA. She's on that squad. She was in here against us last year. Brittany Jackson, who played at Tennessee. She's on that team, so they've got some talented kids.
Anybody who expects us to be a well-oiled machine tonight against Lake Truck or Nov. 12 against DePaul, or for that matter in late December against Ohio State, is probably going to be disappointed.
We're not going to be a well-oiled machine yet. There are two many pieces that that we have to put together, too much teaching that you have to do. Sometimes you do it and it's a little bit ugly for a while, but the end result can be something extraordinary, whereas if you skip some steps and you make it real pretty right now that might be as pretty as it gets.
We're concerned with how good it is at the end of the road in March or April. A long way to go, but I love the strides we're making. Our upperclassmen, Erin (Higgins) and Britney (Brown) are getting better. They're still not completely 100 percent healthy, but both of them are playing all the time just trying to get their knees back in tip-top shape. The chemistry is coming, it's just going to take a while as we blend these new guys in.
Exhibition games are about seeing different combinations and putting different people together. And because of that, sometimes there's not much flow and it's hard to get a chemistry or sense of timing. We've got a lot of guys to choose from and there will be a lot of people play. We'll take it one game at a time.
