Griffin, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Oklahoma Christian in Edmond who had offers from powers like Kansas, UConn and North Carolina, is ranked by Scout.com as the 20th-best prospect in the 2007 class. Davis is a 6-5, 180-pound, guard/forward from Elk City.

Huntington, W.V. wing Chris Early and Norcross, Ga. guard Tony Neysmith are expected to be signed by tomorrow. The class is currently ranked No. 25 nationally.

See below for Capel's comments on Griffin and Davis.

On the signing of Blake Griffin and Cade Davis

Capel: We're really, really excited about those guys. It's ironic those are the two guys I can talk about. Those are the first two guys that we guys that we got.

It started with Cade and it came and it came at a really important time for our program with some of the things we were going through back in the spring. I only had five days I could go out so I didn't go and see him.

The first time I saw him was at a tournament in Houston and I loved him, and he didn't make shots. I loved how hard he played how he competed. I love his athleticism on the defensive end. He just missed shots, but he looked good shooting.

The very next week I went and saw him and he did all those things, and he made shots. We had him up a couple days after that, I extended a scholarship offer to him and he took it. A little bit later, I guess in the spring, we got Blake.

We just feel great about both of those guys. They're both Oklahoma kids. Once we got the job they really wanted to be here, really wanted to be a part of what we're doing and believe in what we're doing.

We think those guys will be two very important guys for our program.

On where Griffin and Cade will play at OU

Capel: Cade's a guard. A shooting guard from Elk City. Good size, really good athleticism. I think he has a really good chance to be a good defender for us. Shoots the ball, very good athlete and a great team guy.

Blake's the best guy in our class. He'll be linked with the best players in the country. We look for him to have a huge imprint on our program. He's about 6-9 now. He's probably about 250 pounds. He looks great and has been really working hard.

The thing about about both of those guys too is that they come from winning programs. They come from high school programs that are well coached. Blake, winning three state championships since he's been in high school. Hopefully, he'll win a fourth.
