The Matchup
Sunday's OU-DePaul matchup is part of the State Farm Tip-off Classic and will be the second game of the day in Norman. No. 9 Georiga and No. 11/12 Rutgers will square off at 12 p.m. inside the Lloyd Noble Center.

The Blue Demons return four players with starting experience from last year's 27-7 squad that eventually lost to LSU in the Sweet 16.

DePaul struggled in their exhibition opener beating Lewis College 93-83, but rebounded in their final tune-up with a 92-67 win over the Chicago Challengers.

The Blue Demons, whose tallest player on the roster is only 6-foot-1, could have trouble matching up with the Sooners inside, especially after losing last year's starting center and leading scorer (Khara Smith) to gradution.

Sunday will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Sherri Coale on DePaul
"They're good. They're smart. Our fans have seen Villanova in h ere a time or two and they'll remind our fans of that — pass, cut and screen and pass, cut and screen. Then 28 seconds into the shot clock somebody shoots an open three and the defense goes, 'Oh my heavens. Why didn't you do that 15 seconds ago so we could just go the other way?'

"Our thing is going to have to be discipline defensively that we finish the play. You can't just guard the first cut or the second screen, you've got to keep with it because all their guys can step out and shoot it. They're all interchangeable.

"And while that could be a really good thing for us on offense, because who do they have that matches up with Courtney or Ashley, it's also a precarious thing for us on defense. Do we have Courtney or Ashley running around the perimeter getting through all those screens contesting 3-point shots? So it's sort of a mismatch and it will be whoever does their thing best.

"We're anxious to play somebody other than ourselves, I'll tell you that. But you can't be good in 21 practices. You can't be very good yet, so we just have to make sure we make fewer mistakes than DePaul does on Sunday afternoon."
