Recruiting: Box takes his official

Enid, Okla. linebacker and Oklahoma commitment Austin Box talks about his visit to Norman.

Austin Box, LB, 6-3, 215, ENID, OKLAHOMA:

JH: Congratulations on Enid's big win over Tulsa Washington.

AB: "Yeah, it is a real big win for us. Our entire team was just kind of clicking. We finally have everybody back on the team and no injuries, and we are starting to jell right now. Things are just starting to work out our way."

JH: What did you think of your official visit to OU this weekend?

AB: "It was a lot of fun. All the touring of the facilities I had already done, so that was a little old hat. I just liked hanging out with the players and coaches."

JH: You have been at OU many times, so did you learn anything different about OU this time?

AB: "No, not really, to tell you the truth. It was all just the same stuff."

JH: What did you think of the OU/Texas Tech game?

AB: "It was a real good game. I thought we might lose for a little bit when Texas Tech got it going there way. We stopped turning the ball over and the defense played real well and played great in the second half."

JH: Did you watch the linebackers a bunch?

AB: "They are playing real well right now in every aspect of the game. The defense has come a long way from the first couple of games. I watched the linebackers and how they played, and how I might fit in there in the future."

JH: Did you talk to any of the other recruits and tell them to join you at Oklahoma?

AB: "Yeah, I talked a little bit to Romine and he said he has narrowed his choices down to OU and Notre Dame. I hope that the fact he lives in the state will help him to decide to be a future teammate of mine."

JH: Are you enjoying your last few games as an offensive skill player?

AB: "I am enjoying the fact that I am a quarterback still. When I get to OU I know that I am going to be a linebacker, and I am never going to get to carry the ball unless I pick up a fumble or get an interception. So right now I am enjoying that in high school because I touch the ball every play."
