RECRUITING: New favorite for California QB?

Huntington Beach QB Tommy Grady talks about his visit to Norman

TOMMY GRADY, QB, HUNINGTON BEACH EDISON, CALIFORNIA:

JH: I saw you at practice today, so what is your impression of the Sooners?

TG: "They have an awesome coaching staff and I think a coaching staff like that is invaluable. They are real relaxed down here and they know what they are talking about it."

JH: Did you get a chance to see the town at all?

TG: "I didn't get a real chance to look at it, but I hear that it is a real college town. The players on the team seem to like Norman very well. I heard that they had 10-thousand fans show up for a scrimmage and that is pretty exciting."

JH: What did you think about their offense?

TG: "I love to run the shotgun and that is pretty much what Oklahoma does most of the time. Oklahoma runs the ball more than we will run it in high school. I don't care how much a team runs or throws it, because I just want to win."

JH: Are you glad your tour is over?

TG: "No, I wish we could keep it going longer, it had been a lot of fun. I have enjoyed hanging out with the various players more than anything."

JH: What was your impression of Coach (Bob) Stoops and Coach (Chuck) Long?

TG: "They know what they are talking about. We have been doing some research and they are always winning. We couldn't believe how much they know about the game and how relaxed they are going about their business. Oklahoma doesn't just win games on form, they know how to win and that is important to us."

JH: Now, that you have visited OU, where do the Sooners stand with you?

TG: "To tell you the truth Oklahoma is probably my top school right now. I loved it here and I can really see myself playing at OU. Out of the five schools I have visited I have narrowed it down to Oklahoma, Florida State and Miami, and right now Oklahoma is my leader."

JH: Now that your tour is over, will you make a decision soon?

TG: "It doesn't really matter right now; I just want to make the right decision. If I have to take official visits after the season I will do that, but if I wake up one morning and feel that Oklahoma or some other school is the place for me I will go there. I am going to go home and talk it over with my family. I don't know if we are going to make a decision or not, but we are going to talk about it."
