WBB: Sooners advance to finals with 92-79 win

Courtney Paris scored 24 points and 16 rebounds in No. 3 Oklahoma's win over Eastern Kentucky.

Sophomore center Courtney Paris recorded her 30th-straight double-double as No. 3 Oklahoma (2-0) advanced to the Waikiki Beach Marriott Classic title game with a 92-79 win over Eastern Kentucky (1-1) Friday night in Honolulu.

Oklahoma shot 59.7 percent in the first 20 minutes as they built a 49-37 lead and never looked back.

They game was actually tied at 33-33 with 5:19 to go, but OU used a 16-4 run to close the half. They then pulled away for good pushing the lead to 83-53 with 6:09 left before a late Eastern Kentucky run cut the final margin to 13 points.

Paris finished with 24 points and 16 rebounds, while her sister, Ashley Paris, added 14 points and eight boards.

Amanda Thompson and Britney Brown also reached double figures finishing with 10 apiece. Brown also dished a game-high eight assists, while Thompson added six rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in 19 minutes off the bench.

The Sooners will play Hawaii in the title game at 7 p.m. CST tonight. The Rainbows advanced with a 69-58 win over Georgetown late Friday night.
