Jarvis Jones, OL, 6-6, 250, ROSENBERG (LAMAR CONSOLIDATED HS), TEXAS:
JH: What do you like best about Thanksgiving?
JJ: "I like turkey, dressing and some other kind of meat. Please, no vegetables. Just a bunch of meat. I like pecan pie, cheesecake. It will all be there on Thanksgiving."
JH: Are you a big eater?
JJ: "I can eat a lot."
JH: Will you be the last person at the dinner table?
JJ: "I don't know if I can say that. I will probably be the last one, but I might use a different strategy. I might eat first and then go back when most people are done and pick off the scraps right before they pick everything up to wash the dishes."
JH: You are still playing aren't you?
JJ: "We won our first playoff game against Friendswood 44-22. This week we play Nederland. We are playing well and we are confident. We are 11-0 this season."
JH: I hear you are having just as good a year individually as your team is?
JJ: "I am having a real good season and we, as a team, are having a great season. We are just taking it one game at a time and hopefully we will continue to play well all the way to the state championship."
JH: Are you still playing on both sides of the ball?
JJ: "I start at offensive tackle and defensive end. On defense, I have four sacks and 60 plus tackles. And on offense, I have 80 pancake blocks."
JH: What has been going on in recruiting?
JJ: "I saw the Texas A&M/Oklahoma game in College Station. That was an unofficial visit to Texas A&M. Then I went on an official visit to Arizona when they played USC. Then I went on an official visit to Iowa."
JH: What did you think about you visit to Iowa?
JJ: "It was a good visit, I liked it. I liked the game atmosphere and the people were crazy."
JH: What did you think about your visit to Arizona?
JJ: "It was a good visit and their game atmosphere was great. The campus was beautiful and it wasn't as hot as I thought it was going to be. It was kind of a dry heat."
JH: Who else are you going to visit?
JJ: "I don't know right now. I just want to play out the season then worry about taking visits them."
JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma at this time?
JJ: "I like them a lot. They have a great program and a great running game. They are a very good school. I will talk to them about a visit after our season is over."
JH: It sounds like you are not close to making a decision?
JJ: "I don't know where exactly I am going to go on the rest of my visits. I am not close to making a decision, I just want to finish out our season and then get back on top of things as far as recruiting goes."
