WBB Final: Oklahoma 72, Tulsa 49

Courtney Paris records her 34th-straight double-double as OU pulls away late from Tulsa.

Third-ranked Oklahoma improved to 6-0 and stretched their road winning streak to 11 games with an up and down performance in their 72-49 win over Tulsa in the Bertha Teague Classic Saturday.

The Sooners led by as many as 22 points at the 17:21 mark of the second half, but the Golden Hurricane cut the lead to single digits (54-45) with 7:18 left in the game.

However, OU closed strong and ended the game on an 18-2 run.

Courtney Paris, who scored seven of the 18 points in OU's game-clinching final surge, led the way with 24 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks. It was her 34th consecutive double-double, which was actually in the books in the first half as she scored 12 points and grabbed 10 boards in the first 20 minutes.

Leah Rush scored a season-high 18 and Chesli Welch added 12.

Oklahoma shot 49.1 percent from the field, while the Golden Hurricane were held to 30.8 percent.

The Sooners, who have now won 20 straight regular season games, will wrap-up their six game road swing this Thursday with a matchup against South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.
