The Oklahoma Sooners have earned their third verbal commitment of the year from athlete Marcus Johnson (6'1", 185, 4.5) from Abilene, Texas. Johnson picked the Sooners over Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Alabama.
Johnson is playing quarterback at Abilene High, but is being recruited by OU as a wide receiver.
"Marcus plays quarterback for us because he gives us the best chance to win at quarterback," said Abilene Coach Steve Warren. "OU is recruiting Marcus as a wide receiver and I can tell you that he has all the talent in the world to be a great wide receiver at the next level."
Johnson is moving late tonight and is not available for comment. We have confirmed from two family members and his coaching staff that he is committed to the Sooners. We will work to get hold of him tomorrow.
