Recruiting: Speedy Texas WR favors two

Round Rock, Texas receiver James Kirkendoll talks about his in-home visit with Oklahoma.

James Kirkendoll, WR, 5-11, 178, ROUND ROCK, TEXAS:

JH: Did you meet with coaches from Oklahoma tonight?

JK: "Coach (Kevin) Sumlin and coach (Bobby Jack) Wright both came in and saw me tonight. That visit went great. Right now there is no question that Oklahoma is at the top of my list."

JH: What was it that you liked about coach Wright and coach Sumlin?

JK: "They were just so up front with me. They told me that I could come in and make an immediate impact. They said that I am a perfect fit for that slot position and they need another player there. They said I would have a good chance to return punts and kicks. That is what I want to do, I want to come in and make an immediate impact and I believe I can do it at Oklahoma."

JH: So you see yourself as a slot receiver in college?

JK: "I can actually play either one, but most schools are recruiting me to play the slot. Guys my size play the slot when they get to the higher level."

JH: You haven't visited OU yet have you?

JK: "No, but I am going in January 12th."

JH: Are you still going to wait a little bit to announce your decision?

JK: "It is going to be next month. Oklahoma and Florida are my top two in that order. I am also looking at Nebraska and Texas Tech.
