UTA comes into Saturday night's matchup on a three-game losing streak (all road games) after starting the year 3-1. They've also faced one common opponent as the Sooners in TCU. UTA lost to the Horned Frogs 98-89 in double overtime in Ft. Worth, while the Sooners beat TCU 63-35 in Norman. The Mavericks' wins have come at North Texas and at home against Texas-Pan American and Texas-Tyler. The Sooners lead the all-time series 4-0.

"They're a good team. They have a new coach in Scott Cross, who's a really good coach and a good guy that's going to do a very good job their once he's able to get his players in. They've had some tough games this year, I think they're 3-4. They had a double-overtime game against TCU.
"They set a ton of ball screens and they're a pretty athletic group. Strong group and have good size, so our focus right now in on them and being as prepared as we possibly can."
