Norman, Okla. —Four Sooners reached double figures as Oklahoma improved to 6-3 with an 89-60 win over UT Arlington (2-5) Saturday night in Norman.
Oklahoma trailed 5-3 early on, but slowly pulled away and led 43-26 at halftime and by as many as 30 points late in the second half.
Freshman guard Tony Crocker led the way with 18 points. Joining Crocker in double figures were Michael Neal (17), Longar Longar (16) and Austin Johnson (13).
Interestingly enough, Neal racked up his second-highest point total of the season with only one made 3-pointer. He was a perfect 4-for-4 from the line and recorded game-highs in assists (6) and steals (5).
The Sooners outrebounded the Mavericks 48-26 with sophomore Taylor Griffin leading the way with a career-high 13 rebounds. Griffin recorded another career-best with seven assists, Longar also tied his career-high in blocked shots with five.
Oklahoma shot 51 percent from the field (58.1 in the second half), while holding UT Arlington to just 37 percent shooting.
OU will play Tulsa in the All College Classic next Thursday at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
