The third ranked Oklahoma women's basketball team had their final tune-up before getting into the meat of their schedule pounding Northern Colorado 82-36 Sunday in Norman.

The Sooners, now 8-0, will host fifth-ranked Ohio State Wednesday night at the Lloyd Noble Center at 6 p.m.

Leading the way for the Sooners was All-American Courtney Paris, who managed to get her 37th-straight double-double early in the second and finish with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Paris was 9-for-11 from the field.

Senior forward Leah rush also had an outstanding game with 11 points and two rebounds. Super frosh Amanda Thompson came off the bench to add 12 points and nine rebounds, four on the offensive end.

Senior Erin Higgins got hot from the outside in the second half hitting three 3's and finishing with 11 points, two assists and one rebound. Sophomore Ashley Paris was also solid with seven rebounds and four points.

Defesively, the Sooners dominated the Bears holding them to 22.4 percent shooting, while shooting 51.5 percent themselves. Northern Colorado's 36 point total was the lowest allowed in the Sherri Coale area and the fifth-lowest in OU history. The OU also hammered the Bears on the boards 53-30 to go along with an oustanding 25 assists against only eight turnovers.

The Sooners have been waiting for over a year to get another crack at Ohio State. They was the last team to beat the Sooners during the regular season last year in Columbus, 75-71. The Buckeyes bring in All-American center Jessica Davenport, who scored 15 points and grabbed three rebounds last year against the Sooners.

Paris scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in that meeting. Surprisingly, the two post did not match-up much last year. Paris guarded Davenport on the defensive end, but Davenport did not cover Paris on her defensive ends.
