RECRUITING: Brown names top five

Mesquite, Texas cornerback Tarell Brown is narrowing down his list. Did OU make the cut?

JH: Will you still play both running back and cornerback this year? And is that still what you like to do?

TB: I like playing both positions and right now I really don't have a preference which position I play.

JH: Are more colleges recruiting you at cornerback, or is it equal on both sides of the ball?

TB: Some schools want me as a running back and a wide receiver, but most schools want me as a cornerback. I would rather go to college as a corner, but I don't mind playing running back. That's fine with me. I just want to play.

JH: With a little over a week before the start of the season how is your team coming along?

TB: We are doing real well. We are just getting back into the swing of things and we won our first scrimmage of the year this weekend. I had to go out of town, because my grandma passed away, but the team played well without me.

JH: How is recruiting going?

TB: I am starting to narrow down my decision a little bit, but I am still trying to consider all the schools that are interested in me. Right now I like Florida State, Ohio State, Florida, Texas and Texas A&M. Oklahoma is still in the picture, but they are not in my top five. Those other five schools are recruiting me a little harder right now, but I will talk to Oklahoma again in early September and we will see where everything stands.

JH: Do you have a favorite right now?

TB: I don't have a favorite and I like all the schools right now.
