Sherri Coale's seventh-ranked Sooners opened up Big 12 play in style Wednesday night with a 78-58 win over Kansas State at the Lloyd Noble Center.
Once again, Oklahoma was led by sophomore courtney Paris who extended her double-double streak to 40 straight games with her 18-point, 19-rebound performance. Paris' twin sister, Ashley, also got into the double-double act with 12 points and a career-high 17 rebounds.
Oklahoma trailed 6-4 just under three minutes into the game, but responded with a 10-0 run, including two 3-pointers by Erin Higgins, to take the lead for good.
KSU would cut the lead to 21-18 with 8:21 to go, but OU closed the half with a 21-8 run to break the game open for good.
The Sooners, who led by as many as 22 points late in the second half, outrebound the Wildcats 57-36 and held them to 28.6 percent shooting from the field (18-63).
The win ended the Wildcats' winning streak at 10 games.
Oklahoma will hit the road for the first of a two-game road trip Saturday against Nebraska in Lincoln. Tip-off is set for 2:05 p.m. (CST) and will be televised locally on the Sooner Sports Network.
