WBB: Oklahoma gets tough road win at Nebraska

Sherri Coale's Sooners kept their winning streak against Big 12 competition alive with a tough 77-69 road win over Nebraska Saturday in Lincoln.

With the win, 8th-ranked Oklahoma (12-1) improved to 2-0 in Big 12 play and stretched their conference win streak to 21, including 10 straight on the road. The loss dropped Nebraska, who upset Texas earlier in the week in Austin, to 13-3 and 1-1 in Big 12 play.

The Sooners jumped out to a quick 19-8 lead, but the Cornhuskers fought back and held a 33-31 halftime lead as Courtney Paris missed the final 8:51 of the first half with foul trouble.

Nebraska came out hot in the second half pushing the lead to 43-35 at the 15:47 mark, but Paris heated up and senior Kendra Moore sparked OU off the bencfh with with seven points in a 18-5 run that saw the Sooners reclaim the lead at 53-48 with 10:13 to go.

The Cornhuskers would tie the game at 55-55, but a Chelsi Welch 3-pointer and four more points from Moore in a 7-2 run helped OU take the lead for good.

Nebraska would cut the lead to 69-67 with 57 seconds left, but the Sooners went 8-for-8 from the free line down the stretch to seal the win.

Paris led the way with 19 points and 14 rebounds, which stretched her double-double streak to 41 straight games. She also added six blocked shots. Moore, who scored 12 second half points, finished with a career-high 18 points.

The Sooners will face perhaps their stiffest road test of the year on Wednesday when they travel to Waco for a showdown with No. 9 Baylor.
