Score the first round of the 2007 series between Big 12 powers Oklahoma and Baylor to the Sooners.

Courtney Paris scored 21 of her game-high 32 points in the final 20 minutes as seventh-ranked Oklahoma (13-1, 3-0) overcame a 10-point deficit and pulled away for a 76-63 win over No. 9 Baylor (15-2, 2-1) Wednesday in night in Waco.

The Sooners trailed 35-27 at halftime and 39-29 with 18:57 to go, but fought back hitting 17 of their 31 shots (54.8 percent) and outscoring the Bears 49-28 in the second half.

"I thought our comeback was outstanding," said OU head coach Sherri Coale, who also recorded her 100th Big 12 win. "I don't know what it is about this place. We always seem to dig a hole at halftime, but I thought our poise and experience really paid off in the second half. When we took the lead we played with a great deal of confidence from that point on."

Oklahoma took the lead for good at 58-56 on a jumper by Paris with 7:42 to go. The bucket sparked a 15-4 run, eight of which were scored by Paris, that broke the game open.

Along with their hot shooting, the Sooners also took care of business on the defensive end of the court holding the Bears to just 30.8 percent shooting in the second half and 0-for-13 from 3-point range overall.

"I compliment Oklahoma. They did exactly what you expect seniors to do," said Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey. "We got tired. We got tired and couldn't hit a shot. Credit their defense. Credit their players."

With the win, the Sooners ended Baylor's 12-game winning streak and stretched their own win streak against Big 12 opponents to 22 overall and 10 on the road.

Paris, who added 16 rebounds and four blocks, extended her double-double streak to 42 straight games.

Oklahoma will return to the Lloyd Noble Center for the first time since Jan. 3 this Sunday for a matchup against Texas Tech. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. (CST).
