Recruiting: Missouri lineman set for visit

Blue Springs, Mo. offensive lineman Donald Stephenson talks about his upcoming visit to Norman.

Donald Stephenson, OL, 6-5, 275, BLUE SPRINGS (BLUE SPRINGS HS) MISSOURI:

JH: Are you playing basketball or getting ready for track now that football is over?

DS: "Nah, I am just working out."

JH: What kind of workouts are you doing?

DS: "We haven't started any agility or running stuff. It is all weight room stuff. I am just lifting weights in the weight room."

JH: Aren't you visiting Oklahoma this weekend?

DS: "Yeah, I am coming to Oklahoma tomorrow. I leave at 12:00 p.m."

JH: Are you looking forward to the visit?

DS: "I can't wait. I know it is going to be fun. I have been waiting to take this visit for a while."

JH: You haven't taken any other visits have you?

DS: "No, this will be my first time."

JH: What will you hoping to accomplish on your visit to OU?

DS: "I want to meet the rest of the coaching staff and get a good feel how everything is up there. That will be about it. I just want to get a good feel how things are up there."

JH: Will you be looking for anything in particular with what they are doing in the offensive line?

DS: "No, I know pretty much all I need to know about the offensive line. I have asked him the kind of stuff they run and the stuff they do. We have talked about who is coming back at my position (LT) and how open that position. He said that they are going to be young at that position and that they are going to need one for the future. I like the situation there and the depth situation that they have. If I work hard I could move up quickly."

JH: Have you been to any schools unofficially?

DS: "I have been to Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. I still have Michigan next week."

JH: Do you have a favorite at this point?

DS: "No, right now I am just making sure I am going to take all my visits. I will know what I want to do when I get back from Michigan. I will chose from the schools that I have visited and it is going to be hard to choose among those four. I am still wide open going into Oklahoma. I was kind of hoping I would have it narrowed down some, but I don't."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma before you take your visit?

DS: "My only thing left to do with Oklahoma is to get up there and take a visit. Up to this point, I have been impressed with Oklahoma. I have been impressed with the coaches that I have met and the offense that they run. They had a great season and Oklahoma has been great. I look forward to taking my visit this weekend."
