The Matchup
The Sooners come into tonight's game riding a 15-game winning streak against Oklahoma State, but this year's version of the Cowgirls appears much improved compared to those in the past.

After last year's 0-16 Big 12 record, second-year head coach Kurt Budke has the Cowgirls 14-2 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play, including wins over Kansas (68-54) and at Iowa State (45-44). Their lone loss was at Texas Tech (75-49).

Maria Cordero, who at 6-foot-3 will pose another stiff test inside for Courtney Paris. Cordero averages 16.5 points per game. OSU also has another tough forward in Rashidat Sadiq, a transfer from UConn who is averaging just over 13 points a game.

OU leads the all-time series 43-34 overall and 17-16 in Stillwater. OSU's last win in the series came in the Big 12 Tournament in 1999.

Sherri Coale on Oklahoma State
"Speed, speed, speed. They like to run. Their point guard is just going to go crazy in the open court. She ikes to get to the rim and really makes them play fast.

"I think you've got to limit their easy shots and keep them away from the basket. They've got a couple of good 3-point shooters and Rashidat (Sadiq) inside can get going and be as strong and tough and as volatile offensively as anybody.

"I think it's important for us early to jump out and do what we know we can do, because they have confidence and they're playing on their home floor. I think how we start the game will be very important to our success.

"I hope the roads are OK where everybody can get out and watch it for women's basketball in the state of Oklahoma. It's a great venue and we always have a terrific crowd that travels with us up to Stillwater.

"So I'm hoping all those roads are clear and we can take the crimson with us."
