The Matchup
The Sooners will look to get back on track tonight in the Lloyd Noble Center, where they are 7-1 this year, after Saturday's thumping in Austin.

The Cornhuskers start a four-guard lineup, but do pose one problem in the middle in 6-foot-11 center Aleks Maric. Without Longar Longar, who is serving the second and final game of his suspension tonight, Oklahoma will have to match up against Maric with either 6-foot-7 Taylor Griffin or 6-foot-6 Nate Carter. Maric ranks sixth in the Big 12 in scoring (18.2) and fourth in rebounding (7.9).

Nebraska lost their Big 12 opener to Iowa State, 71-62, on Jan. 10. They were suposed to play their Big 12 home opener on Saturday against Oklahoma State, but the game was postponed due to the weather conditions in Oklahoma. Their signature wins so far this season have come against Creighton in Lincoln and at Miami.

The Sooners own a 102-80 lead in the overall series and a 58-20 edge in Norman. Nebraska's last win at the LNC came in 1999. The Sooners lost to the Cornhuskers twice last season, once in Lincoln and in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament in Dallas.

Jeff Capel on Nebraska
"Good team. They play hard. Good defensively, very solid. They have a very talented post player in Maric. He is a really, really big guy. Great touch, good hands for a post guy. He can score the basketball and do some things. They have some good perimeter players who can shoot the ball pretty well.

"It's a good, tough matchup for us. We have to figure out a way to kinda contain Maric inside, and hopefully we don't get in foul trouble.

"This will be our first time at home this year without Longar. This game, especially because of their size, is something that you'll probably see his absence be more obvious in this game, because of just how big Maric is and how small we are now.

"We'll maybe look at doing some different things on Maric. We'll try to defend him some different ways, give him some different looks and switch our defenses a little more frequently. On the offensive end, we want to go at him. Hopefully, going at him maybe we can get him in some foul trouble.

"Obviously, any time you play you want to take care of your home games, especially when you get into the league. We're playing against two good teams (this week). Nebraska's a good team and Baylor's a good team.

"It is a big week for us and hopefully we can come out and do a good job and start it off right. Hopefully we can play well and have a good performance, and hope that a good performance can lead to a win for us."
