Recruiting: Receiver makes the switch?

The latest on New Orleans, La. wide receiver Tyler Stradford.

Tyler Stradford, WR, 6-3, 180, NEW ORLEANS (O. PERRY WALKER), LOUISIANA:

JH: What did you think of your visit to Southern Miss. this weekend?

TS: "I have decided to decommit from OU and go play cornerback at Southern Miss."

JH: What was the main reason for this decision?

TS: "It is because of playing time. Oklahoma has five or six sophomores and freshmen on their team at receiver and Southern Miss. only had three cornerbacks still on scholarship."

JH: Did you want to play cornerback instead of receiver?

TS: "No, but I can play both of them. It really doesn't matter."

JH: Have you talked to Oklahoma about this decision yet?

TS: "Yes, I have. They told me if that is what I wanted to do to just go ahead and do it."

JH: Did Oklahoma tell you that they were still going to recruit you or did they say good luck and that they were moving on?

TS: "I don't know. I don't want to lead them on the wrong way or anything. They probably need to sign another receiver."

JH: Does this mean that you and your best friend, Alex Williams, probably won't play at the same school now?

TS: "No Alex is still thinking about going to Oklahoma."

JH: Didn't Alex visit Florida State this weekend?

TS: "No, he cancelled that visit. He has one more visit to Alabama on February 2nd."
