The Matchup
The sixth-ranked Aggies come into Saturday's matchup in a four-way tie for first place in the Big 12, while the Sooners sit alone in seventh at 3-3.

The Aggies, whose lone conference loss came against Texas Tech in Lubbock (70-68) on Wednesday, will pose a tough test for Oklahoma's inconsistent offense, which is ranked 10th in the league in scoring at 69.6 points per game. A&M leads the Big 12 and are second in the nation in scoring defense (54.2). They also lead the Big 12 in field goal percentage defense (.352), rebounding defense (29.5) and 3-point field goal percentage defense (.273).

Offensively, they are just fifth in the conference in scoring (76.2), but they lead the league in scoring margin (+22.0) and field goal percentage (.512). They are led by senior point guard Acie Law and junior forward Joseph Jones, who combine to be the fourth-highest scoring tandem in the league. Law ranks ninth in the conference in scoring and third in assists, while Jones is 16th in scoring and 10th in rebounding.

A&M is also a perfect 11-0 at home this season in Reed Arena, including Big 12 wins over Kansas State (69-65) and Oklahoma State (67-49). Their two non-conference losses were against then-No. 9 LSU (64-52) in Baton Rouge and then-No. 1 UCLA (65-62) in Anaheim.

Oklahoma leads the all-time series against the Aggies 25-1 and 10-1 in College Station.

Jeff Capel on Texas A&M
"They're one of the top teams in the country. I think they were ranked No. 6 before their game against Texas Tech.

"What they have is one of the premiere guards in the country in Acie Law, and they also have one of the premiere post guys in (Joseph) Jones. And they surround those guys with other really tough guys, other really physical guys and other really talented guys.

"Billy Gillispie's done a great job there this being his third year. He's done a great job of improving the talent, but also improving the toughness and getting those guys to believe in his style and his system and believing they can win every time they step on the floor.

"He's (Acie Law) awfully good. Like I said, he's one of the best guards in the country. He's lefthanded, he's really crafty with the ball. He's a true point guard in every sense of the word. He doesn't get panicked on the floor. He's always poised. He can score, but he also really understands how to manage a game. So he's a very talented guy.

"We have to get better in our zones. I thought we had some slippage against Oklahoma State in our zones and that's something, before the A&M game, we'll work on and be better prepared for."
