Recruiting: Sooners land Oklahoma athlete

See inside for the early details on Vian, Okla. athlete Londell Taylor's commitment to Oklahoma. has learned that Oklahoma has indeed offered Vian, Okla. athlete (receiver/safety) Londell Taylor (6-2, 215, 4.6) and he has committed to Oklahoma.

Taylor caught 46 passes for 1170 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior. He also rushed ball 12 times for 111 yards (9.25 yards per carry) and returned a kickoff return for a touchdown. Defensively, he recorded 67 tackles, nine interceptions (returning four for touchdowns with the longest 70 yards).

He's expected to be a first-team all-state selection and play in the Oklahoma Oil Bowl. He was the star of the Vian team this year that lost Millwood in the Class 2A state championship.

Taylor, who has a 38-inch vertial jump, started two games as a quarterback as a sophomore and averages 14 points and 10 rebounds on the basketball team.

Londell was heading to basketball practice when we reached him Monday afternoon, but he said his family are all huge Oklahoma fans and it's always been his dream to go to Oklahoma.

Taylor chose the Sooners over North Carolina, where he just returned from an official visit last weekend.
