Lawton - Ashley and Courtney Paris along with several OU football players and cheerleaders visited the Extreme Makeover Home Edition jobsite in Lawton Sunday.
The television show is in town to build a new home for former Army sergeant and longtime OU fan Gene Westbrook and his family.
Westbrook was paralyzed when an enemy mortar landed in a mess hall in Baghdad in 2004.
Two years later, tragedy again struck the Westbrook family when their van grazed an oncoming car and flipped into a ditch. The accident left the couple's son, James Westbrook, 9, paralyzed below the hip and daughter Katie Westbrook, 11, with one kidney.
The TV show selects families around the nation that have suffered setbacks and loss and helps them rebuild their lives with a new home.
The OU players and cheerleaders went to the jobsite to cheer on the over 250 construction workers, all volunteering their time and materials for the build.
Extreme Makeover Home Edition will be in Lawton all week and will turnover the house to the Westbrook's on Thursday, Feb 22. The Westbrook's show will air on Sunday, April 8 on ABC-TV.
