BRUCE DAVIS, DE, 6Õ3, 230, 4.6, LEAGUE CITY CLEAR CREEK, TEXAS:
Bruce is an outstanding defensive end prospect form the state of Texas who plays big on the line of scrimmage and really gets after the quarterback.
David heads into his third year as a starter at defensive end and he is the second tight end in short-yardage situations. Last season Davis finished with nine sacks, 36 solo tackles, two pass knockdowns and a forced fumble.
In his teams' 34-0 win over Conroe last weekend, Davis had two sacks, a caused fumble, a fumble recovery and seven solo tackles.
ÒI was pleased with my opening game,Ó said Davis. ÒHowever, there are a number of things I still need to work on.Ó
Davis can bench 300 pounds, squats 475 and he has a 26-inch vertical jump. Davis went to the UCLA, Texas and Penn State summer camps and did pretty well at all three camps.
In recruiting, Davis is looking at UCLA and Arkansas as his top two, because they are the two schools he has talked to the most recently.
ÒI also like Oklahoma and I talked to Coach Hayes just the other day,Ó said Davis. ÒI like how they play on defense and how they stay aggressive.Ó
Davis has been offered by over 15 schools and has qualified.
