MBB Final: Kansas State 72 Oklahoma 61

Sooners fall to 15-14 overall and 6-10 in Big 12 play. See inside for today's postgame links.

Oklahoma's late season meltdown continued as they suffered their sixth-straight loss with a 72-61 defeat Saturday at Kansas State.

The loss snapped an eight-game winning streak over the Wildcats and marked OU's first six-game losing streak since 1991.

The Sooners led 14-13 at the 11:56 mark, but the Wildcats closed the half with a 28-8 run to take a 41-22 halftime lead. As usual, Oklahoma played better in the second half and cut the lead to single digits at 66-57 with 2:52 to go, but that would be as close as they would get.

Nate Carter and Tony Crocker led the way for the Sooners with 14 points each, while David Godbold added 12.

The Sooners will return to the court for the first round of the Big 12 Tournament Thursday in Oklahoma City. OU will be the No. 9 seed and play 8th-seeded Iowa State at 11:30 a.m. (CST) Thursday morning. The OU-ISU winner will play top-seeded Kansas Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. (CST). See below for the complete bracket and schedule.
