Desean Hales, WR, 5-10, 165, SPRING (KLEIN OAK HS), TEXAS:
JH: What did you think about your visit to OU on Junior Day this past weekend?
DH: "I thought it was really good. The campus up there is really, really nice. I got to meet Coach (Bob) Stoops and Coach (Kevin) Sumlin for the first time. The visit went pretty well."
JH: So the highlight for you was getting a chance to meet the players and the OU coaches?
DH: "Yes, those things and when they took me to the academic center and showed me the business program. They have really remodeled everything in the academic center and really remodeled everything around the football facilities and the campus. They told me how old everything was and you wouldn't be able to tell."
JH: Are you talking about the stadium?
DH: "The stadium and just all the buildings around campus. OU has remodeled just about everything and they continued to remodel different places on campus."
JH: What was your take on the football facilities at OU?
DH: "Every college nowadays has great facilities. OU has great facilities and they have everything that a player could ask for in a college or a program."
JH: Did you get a chance to watch practice?
DH: "I did stay around and watch practice. It reminded me a lot of our practices. I like the fact they do a lot of one-on-one drills with their DBs and they do a lot of footwork drills. They do a lot of work on their routes."
JH: Now that you have been to OU for Junior Day, what do you think of the Sooners?
DH: "I do feel better about Oklahoma now that I know more about them. Earlier, I didn't know a whole lot about them. At least about the campus and their academic programs."
JH: How many junior days have you been to thus far?
DH: "I have been to LSU's Junior Day, and I have also been to Texas A&M and Texas."
JH: Have you seen any differences in the schools you've visited for Junior Days?
DH: "From what I have noticed, there are a lot similarities in the programs. The biggest difference that you see in these schools is character and personality, which is all good. They have all been top-notch and really good."
JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma at this time?
DH: "I think it is a really good school and I will definitely keep them in mind from now on."
JH: Who are the schools that you are considering at this time?
DH: "As of right now the big five that are talking to me the most, which are my top five, are Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and LSU. Those schools have been talking to me the most and I have liked what I have seen from all those schools. I still need to take a visit to Texas Tech."
JH: Are you looking to commit early or go through the entire recruiting process?
DH: "My thing is that I am going to take as much time as need. I do plan on making a decision before my senior season starts. I want to take as much time as I need, but make a decision for the start of my senior year."
JH: So you might take your official visits this summer?
DH: "I don't know. But, yes, I might if I can this summer."
JH: Do you have a leader at this point?
DH: "Right now I am still pretty open. When I get through looking at all these schools and talking to all these coaches, hopefully by then I can start to narrow down my choices so that I can make a decision."
JH: What did you think of Oklahoma's offense and how they use their receivers?
DH: "At first it was kind of hard to tell, because at first it was just individual practice. They were all together, but from what I saw it looks like OU is going to throw the ball and they like to throw the ball. I want to go somewhere that they like to throw the ball, and OU does throw the ball well."
JH: Oklahoma is off to a great start with their recruiting class. So is the fact you could be a part of a great class at a particular school something that you take into consideration?
DH: "The stats don't lie with Oklahoma. They have always been a top team. I understand why kids want to go there. Oklahoma is a good place to be."
JH: Are you going to take any other visits in the next few weeks?
DH: "Actually, I am going to take a break over the next few weeks. The past few weeks for me have been really busy, so I am just going to chill out for a while before I take any more visits."
