Jai Lucas, PG, 5-11, BELLAIRE, TEXAS:
JH: The last time we talked you said for me to call you back by the end of the month and that you thought you would have your decision down to two schools. So what is the latest?
JL: "There is nothing really different right now, but there is a lot going on right now. After the news today, I am going to have to wait a little longer now."
JH: Why is that?
JL: "In the coaching profession, you never know what is going to happen. A perfect example of that is the fact that today Tubby Smith left Kentucky for Minnesota. So you really just don't know what is going to happen. I am just going to sit back and see what happens."
JH: How much of an effect does the fact Tubby left have on your desire to play at Kentucky?
JL: "Yeah, that has a great effect. As for reasons why I was looking at Kentucky, I was looking at their school. Kentucky is Kentucky regardless, and because of that I am still considering the school. But the fact that Tubby is not there any more does hinder their chances to sign me."
JH: How long are you willing to wait to see what Kentucky is going to do? If it takes them a month are you willing to wait that long?
JL: "No, I am going to have my decision by then. I have four great schools and Kentucky is just one of the schools that I was looking at."
JH: Are you still seriously considering all four schools?
JL: "We have not sat down as a family and talked about anything yet, so at moment I am. I have not sat down and talked about anything yet. I am pretty sure we will soon."
JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma at this point?
JL: "I love Oklahoma. I love Coach (Jeff) Capel and everything he stands for and everything that he is doing there. I really think he is going to get the program going and they are going to start getting some notoriety."
JH: So Oklahoma is still very much in the mix at this point?
JL: "Oh yes. Most definitely."
JH: How much are do you stay stay in touch with Coach Capel?
JL: "We text message a lot. I talk to him on the phone once a week. We keep in touch a lot."
JH: What are your thoughts on the Oklahoma State Cowboys?
JL: "Oklahoma State is still doing what they have always been doing. Oklahoma State is almost like going home, because I know everybody there. So that is always a great feeling."
JH: What are your thoughts on Maryland?
JL: "Well, Maryland is ACC basketball and I know the coaching staff real well. I have to say that all the schools are neck-and-neck and that is why I haven't made a decision yet."
JH: Is there a key factor at this point in your decision?
JL: "It is just where I feel comfortable."
JH: Would your dad ever considering coaching in the college ranks in the future?
JL: "No, my dad is looking to get back in the NBA. He has some opportunities there."
