Basketball Recruiting Update

Sooners looking to fill last scholarship with talentd Arkansas guard Ronnie Brewer

The Oklahoma men's basketball team have backed off Cartier Martin, a 6-7 small forward from Houston (Nimitz HS), Texas. The Sooners are happy with the verbal commitment from Brandon Foust, a 6-7 forward from Columbus, Ohio, who they feel will qualify. Thus, Martin is not going to visit OU this weekend, which is the Sooners choice.

However, the Sooners are still very much in the running for Fayetteville, Ark. 6-7 guard Ronnie Brewer. Brewer will visit the Sooners on homecoming weekend when the football squad hosts Iowa State.

Brewer goes to Kansas this weekend, which I believe is their Midnight Madness weekend. Despite the fact Kansas has commitments from three guards, they are still recruiting Brewer very hard.

Don't rule out Arkansas on Brewer. I realize that he is looking all over the place, but he knows that he can always go to Arkansas and that would be a good fit for him. His father and the University of Arkansas have patched things up and the Brewer legacy is very strong in Arkansas. The Hawgs will be in this race into the very end against either OU or Kansas.
