RECRUITING: Lewisville duo picks Oklahoma

Lewisville linebacker talks about his verbal commitment to Oklahoma on Sunday

We have just learned that Lewisville prospects Tony Cade and Demarrio Pleasant committed to Oklahoma on Sunday. Below is an interview done with Pleasant Sunday evening following his commitment.

JH: Did you go to the OU/Texas game?

DP: "Yes, I went and the game was fantastic. I thought it was a great spectacle. I think it was the greatest game I have ever been to. The crowd and the atmosphere was wild and it was a great game. It was the first time I have ever been to the game."

JH: Did you enjoy the game?

DP: "Yeah it sure did."

JH: Would you like to play in the OU-Texas game someday?

DP: "Actually, I just committed to Bob Stoops just a few minutes ago. Tony and I actually committed to Coach Stoops and Coach Venables (Brent)."

JH: What were the main reasons you chose Oklahoma?

DP: "All through the recruiting process we have had a great relationship with the coaches through the whole recruiting process. We just didn't want to rush into anything, but we wanted to make sure we knew what was going on. We got to know the program very well, because we have been up there six or seven times. I feel that the coaches will get the most out of my abilities."

JH: You are a great linebackers in college and how will your talents fit into what OU does at linebacker?

DP: "I think it is a perfect fit for my abilities and plus at OU I will be surrounded with great players also."

JH: Are you glad that you and Tony will get a chance to play together at OU?

DP: "We have been thinking about it for all along. He has always wanted to go to OU, but he was just waiting to see what I was going to do. So, when I decided today I called him and told him he was real excited about my decision, because now we can go to the same school together."
