Seminoles Now in Picture for Daniel Thomas

Daniel Thomas was highly impressed on his trip to Norman last month and was maybe ready to commit to the Sooners. However, Florida State is now knocking on his door and the athletic safety told Sooners Illustrated that he'll listen to what they have to say. Here's what he had to say.

Daniel Thomas' season may be over, but its looks like his recruitment is heating up.

The University of Oklahoma may have been primed to swipe the Northwest Mississippi Community College product from Ole Miss, but there's another suitor in the mix.

Florida State is now interested in the services of the two-star safety, who played in both the offensive and defensive backfield for the Rangers.

"Florida State has been talking to me about setting up a visit, so I'm going to see what they've got to say before I do anything," Thomas said Sunday night.

Thomas (6-2, 230) has been a soft verbal for the Rebels, but has shown interest in other schools, especially in OU when the Sooners came calling. He visited OU last month when the Sooners hosted Missouri.

He said he's still very interested in the Sooners.

"I'm very high on OU right now," he said. "I'd say it's down to those three (OU, Florida State and Ole Miss) now."

Thomas saw his season end Saturday in a loss to Gulf Coast in the first round of the MACJC state playoffs. There was little he could do about it as Thomas watched most of the game from the sidelines with a sprained ankle.

He hurt the ankle two weeks ago and didn't play at all last week before seeing limited action on Saturday.

"I just got hurt at the wrong time," he said.
