RECRUITING: Ohio guard looking at OU

Dayton, Ohio shooting guard Brandie Haskins will visit OU and has the Sooners in her top five

Brandie is considered the 20th best player in the country and one of the most physical guards in the country. A tremendous scorer off the dribble, Hoskins can run the point in a pinch and is a serious defender. Just moments ago I had a chance to talk with for the first time about her recruiting process.

JH: You are rated as one of the top 20 players in the country, how does that make you feel?

BH: "It makes me feel very good, because I like people to feel good about my abilities?

JH: Describe your game.

BH: "For the most part I have good fundamentals, but I have good quickness and I am very good in the open floor. I play all three guard positions and I think I will be a two or three guard in college."

JH: What were your stats this past year?

BH: "In high school I averaged 21 points, five assists, six rebounds and three steals. In AAU ball this summer I averaged 25 points and seven assists per game.

JH: Are you starting your visits this weekend?

BH: "I am going to Maryland this weekend. I wanted to change it and go to OU this weekend, but they couldn't reschedule it so I have to continue on with my plans to visit Maryland this weekend. I will visit OU on the 26th of this month.

JH: Who are the five schools that you are interested in?

BH: "I like Oklahoma, Florida State, Maryland, Michigan State and Ohio State."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

BH: "I like the coaches a whole lot, but I haven't met the team yet. I will do that when I visit later this month. I knew they have a great program.
