Tipoff is scheduled at 12:30 p.m. CST.
The Sooners (7-2) are coming off wins of 24 and 26 points over TCU and Tulsa, respectively. Stephen F. Austin (6-1) has won four straight since a 60-44 loss at Texas Tech. Those four wins are by an average of 18.7 points.
The game is also Oklahoma last test before tests…as in final exams. The Sooners will be out of action for a week before returning next Saturday for a three-game stretch that includes Arkansas, Gonzaga and West Virginia.
The Lumberjacks, coming off a 56-39 win against Southern on Tuesday, are led by junior center Matt Kingsley (6-9, 225), who is averaging team highs of 19.0 points and 6.3 rebounds. Junior forward Josh Alexander is second on the team in both categories with 13.8 points and 6.2 boards.
Point guard Eric Bell leads the Southland Conference and is fourth nationally in assists (6.6 a game) and adds 7.4 points. Nick Shaw and Gerald Fonzie each added over 7.0 points an outing.
The Lumberjacks average 65.7 points a game while shooting .453 from the field. Like the Sooners, they are very good defensively, giving up 55.1 a contest, which ranks in the top 20 nationally, and hold opponents to 40 percent shooting.
In his eighth season at SFA, coach Danny Kaspar owns a 114-91 record at the school.
Through nine games, Oklahoma is holding opponents to 56.8 points and holding foes to .358 from the field.
Offensively, the Sooners have been especially good at home, averaging 81.0 points in winning all five games. Oklahoma's current five starters – Tony Crocker, Blake Griffin, Austin Johnson, Omar Leary and Longar Longar – are shooting a combined .541 from the field.
These two teams have met just once. Oklahoma beat SFA 88-55 on Jan. 7, 1981, in Norman.
