MEN'S BB: OU Offers $5 Tickets Saturday

In the wake of recent winter storms that have wreaked havoc statewide, the University of Oklahoma announced on Thursday that it will offer $5 tickets to the Oklahoma vs. Arkansas men's basketball game at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lloyd Noble Center. OU students will be admitted free with their student ID.

In wake of the recent winter storm, the University of Oklahoma Athletics Department has given fans even more incentive to attend Saturday's men's basketball game against Arkansas.

OU announced on Thursday plans to offer $5 tickets to the game for all those affected by the storm, which has included massive power outages. The offer is also good to all OU faculty and staff as well.

In addition, University of Oklahoma students will receive free admission with their student ID.

"We realize there are members of our community who are going through a difficult time right now," Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione said. "It has been a long week for many people, including members of our own staff, so we want to offer a special opportunity to come have some fun, support our Sooners, and display our great spirit to a national television audience."

The $5 ticket offer is one of just many promotions that had already been planned for the game, which is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. and will be nationally televised on ESPN2.

Members of the OU football team will sign autographs from 1 to 2 p.m. in the upper concourse of the Lloyd Noble Center. The football teams will also be recognized at halftime and address the crowd.

Rally towels will also be placed in every seat in the arena.

In addition, members of the OU ROTC will be recognized and members of area armed forces bases will also be honored.

The first 500 OU students will also receive coupons for $.50 hot dogs.
