Walker Does Some Recruiting on Visit

Garland (Texas) High defensive tackle Casey Walker made his official visit to Norman this weekend. He was one of several Oklahoma commitments in town for the football team's festivities. Also on hand were three players high on Oklahoma's wish list. Did Walker and the rest of the crew do some recruiting of their own?

Casey Walker knows where he's going to college. He spent the weekend trying to help others make up their mind.

Walker, a defensive tackle from Garland (Texas) High, made his official visit to the University of Oklahoma this past weekend.

"It was really good," said the three-star recruit. "I really enjoyed myself."

This visit, however, was merely a formality to Walker, who committed to Oklahoma in June. He was one of several Sooner commitments on campus for the weekend.

But there were also three people on campus who haven't committed: Lineback T.J. Bryant, wide receiver Jameel Owens and defensive end Stacy McGee.

All three are high on Oklahoma's wish list and all three are seriously considering the Sooners.

So did Walker try to help bolster his own signing class by recruiting anyone?

"Yeah," he said. "J.T. the linebacker and Owens the receiver."

When asked if he thinks he and the rest of the crew made an impression, Walker made a bold statement.

"I think both of them are going to commit," he said.
