RECRUITING: Will Virginia RB visit Norman?

Virginia Beach running back and Notre Dame commit Isiah Gardner talks about his future

ISIAH GARDNER, RB, VIRGINIA BEACH SALAM, VIRGINIA:

JH: How is your season going?

IG: "I have played in six of our eight games this season because I have been battling a minor knee injury all year. I also strained my Achilles tendon early in the year, but I have still rushed for 673 yards and 10 touchdowns. I would say that I am healthier now then I have been all season long. The first two games of the season is when I got hurt and I didn't play much in those games. So, most of my yardage has come in the last six games. We need to play well because we need to win our next two games to get into the playoffs."

JH: What kind of offense are you running out of?

IG: "Our offense is just like Oklahoma's, but our team doesn't throw the ball to me much. I am double teamed on all of our pass routes, so my quarterback does the right thing and finds the open man. There is always somebody who has drawn single coverage or is open in our passing game because I am double covered."

JH: Are you are committed to Notre Dame?

IG: "Yes, I am still committed to Notre Dame. The only visit I am going to take is to Notre Dame. I was going to visit Oklahoma in December, but I am not going to do that now. Notre Dame is playing great right now and that is something that has been very impressive."
