RECRUITING: Houston DE down to two

Houston, Texas defensive end Chris Harrington talks about the difference between his final two schools

JH: How is your season going?

CH: "There have been some ups and downs this year and we have lost two games that we should have won. We are 6-2 on the year and we are getting some momentum here at the end of the season. We won our first district game last weekend. I have 45 tackles and 11 sacks this season. On offense I play mostly on the goal line and in double tight end sets. I caught a two-point conversion in our last game."

JH: Are most teams still recruiting you as a defensive end?

CH: "I am just being recruited as a defensive end and teams look at me as a guy that can rush the passer. I don't look at myself as just a pass rusher. I feel I can play a complete game, but pass rushing is one of my top assets."

JH: What is the latest in recruiting with you?

CH: "Georgia Tech sent me a Fed Ex and offered me tonight, however my decision will come down to Oklahoma and Texas A&M."

JH: OU and Texas A&M have been your top two schools for some time, what are your thoughts on both schools?

CH: "Both schools have a lot to offer. OU has a great coach and they have a tremendous program. At Texas A&M I have history there because my grandfather and uncle both played there. My uncle was also the color voice on the radio broadcast for 11 years. The fact that OU is ranked number one in the nation and are playing for the national title definitely has something to do with it."

JH: Because of your legacy at Texas A&M does OU really have a great chance to sign you?

CH: "Yeah, definitely. Traditions are all good, but sometimes it is great that you develop a new tradition. We will have to wait and see how it all works out. I am thinking very hard about Oklahoma."
