RECRUITING: Top Texas DE set to check out Norman

Defensive end Alonzo Dotson talks about his upcoming visit to Norman and his interest in the Sooners

JH: How are things going for you this season?

AD: "We are at 6-2 right now and I am having a pretty good season. I have seven and a half sacks and 50 tackles. I also have 25 tackles for a loss."

JH: Haven't you been a dominant player your entire career at Hastings?

AD: "This is my third year to start at defensive end. I was hurt some of the year last season and I finished with something like six sacks."

JH: What is going on in recruiting right now?

AD: "Right now I am going to UCLA (12-13), Oklahoma (1-6), Texas (1-13). Right after my season ends I will be going up to Colorado. This weekend I will visit OU unofficially at the OU-Colorado game."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

AD: "Oklahoma is very high on my list. I like how they play defense and I am going up there this weekend to check out the environment. I also want to see how the players and coaches are and how they treat each other."

JH: Do you have a favorite right now?

AD: "I have no favorite and I am trying to keep an open mind. I have been offered by all of these schools and I want to give myself a chance to check them out."

JH: What are you looking for in a school?

AD: "I want to see how much a degree can help me from that school. I want to know what their alumni base is and what kind of connections I am going to have once I graduate. In football I want a family based team. If I am going to spend the next four to five years there I want to feel comfortable. It is also important the style of defense that they are playing, because I want to play within an aggressive defense."
