Since the last Scout.com update Klein Oak (TX) tight end Jordan Najvar has had quite a bit of movement in his recruitment. Not only has he pulled in a few offers, he has also been on a few visits.
And he is getting ready for another one to Norman.
"I'm going to Oklahoma this weekend," Najvar said. "I've never been to the state of Oklahoma so I am real excited about the visit. I'm looking forward to the trip and seeing what they have to offer."
So does he feel like an offer is coming once he gets there?
"I can't tell you if they are going to offer me, but they did say that they will not offer me until they see me," Najvar said. "I'm not sure if that means in person or when they come see me at spring training."
The 6-foot-6, 230-pound Najvar said he has a good relationship with coach Wilson and area recruiter coach James Patton. He said he talks with weekly and exchange of several emails.
Aside from the Sooner interest, Najvar holds offers from Nebraska, Arizona, and Arkansas, all of which he picked up over the last couple of months. He talked about how good it felt to get that initial first-offer pressure out of the way.
"It's definitely a huge weight off of my shoulders," Najvar said. "But I feel like once you get offered by some big programs, other offers usually follow. And all of these (offers) are from big-time programs."
Other big-time programs that have already seen Najvar on campus include: Texas, Houston, Texas Tech, Georgia, and Texas A&M. He plans to go to Arizona the next week, and possibly Arkansas the week after that.
He admits that no team is on top because he wants to wait and see how spring training goes before narrowing things down.
"I plan to make a decision at the end of summer," Najvar said. "I want to visit as many schools as possible before choosing a school."
Najvar caught 15 passes for 305 yards and a score as a junior. He also had 79 yards rushing.
