Dent Takes in OU Spring Game

Randall Dent is a true national prospect. He has offers from all over the country. Yesterday he was on campus at Oklahoma and the Sooners have started to make a move up his list. Sooners Illustrated has more with this Texas Top 100 prospect and his visit to Norman.

Randall Dent, a 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive tackle from South Grand Prairie High in Texas has been one of the hottest recruiting targets in Texas.

"My top schools right now are LSU, Texas, and Oklahoma State," Dent said. "Oklahoma State has offered me and Texas Tech, Kansas, Oregon, Minnesota, and Arizona are some of the ones that have offered me."

On Saturday Dent had the chance to visit Norman and take a look at the Oklahoma Sooners for the first time.

"It was good, it was real good," Dent informed of the experience. "It was my first time at OU and I saw a lot of impressive things. I was real impressed by the school."

"Everything was real close as far as the dorms and football facilities. Everything was close with-in walking distance."

"Things they had in the weight room that really impressed me was they had these new type of air pressure weights. I thought that was real cool. Little things like that impressed me. Things that help you get better as far as playing."

The Sooners are not one of his current favorites, but he admits that they did move up his list after he got the chance to see what they are all about.

"I did not know that much about them before my visit," Dent explained. "They have moved up on my list. They have not yet offered."

Dent will be one of the many top prospects that will be attending the Under Armour/Scout.com Combine in Dallas next weekend at the Dallas Cowboy Training facility at Valley Ranch.

The South Grand Prairie team is going to have a number of guys represent the school at the event and Dent is looking forward to showing everyone that they are a real threat in 2008.

"It is going to be really exciting," Dent relayed. "I am excited to show everybody that we are going to be really good in our senior season, after a disappointing year last year, so it is really exciting."

"I am going to go out there and do my best and show people what I am made of. I want to do that with everything and anything I can do."

Dent racked up 50 tackles, five sacks, and 10 tackles for a loss while on is way to All-District honors as a junior in 2007.
