Sooners in the Mix for Karam?

The offers continue to come in for Friendswood quarterback Jacob Karam. With Pac-10, Conference USA, and Big 12 offers in hand, Karam looks for things to pick up with spring practice approaching. And though he is primarily focused on the schools that have offered, is he open to some new interest? Scout.com has the update.

With an abundance of quarterback talent in the state of Texas, it's not surprising to see Friendswood's Jacob Karam see the success he has had this off-season. With his latest two offers, that puts the 6-foor-2, 203-pound Karam up to six.

But he is confident that more (offers) are coming.

"I think that there will be a lot of scouts coming to see me and my teammates at spring practice," Karam said. "I'm real excited about all of the schools that say they are coming. I think a few more offers may come after that."

For the moment, Karam holds offers from Rice, Iowa State, Houston, Stanford, Arizona, and recently Missouri. Karam named no favorites, but did say that he favorable to the schools that have extended and offer to him.

But aside from this, he does keep in touch with a quarterback's coach from a Big 12 school that is not listed.

"I talk with coach Josh Heupel from Oklahoma pretty regularly," Karam said. "I went down there last summer, but I haven't been there this off season. Hopefully, they (Sooner coaches) will come down and watch me this spring."

Karam said he has family down that way and is open to the program if an offer were to be extended. Last season, Karam threw for 1,951 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also had five rushing touchdowns.

His plans for this weekend are to travel to Missouri with former teammate and Tiger commit Will Ebner.
