Morrison High on Sooners

Royse City athlete Richard Morrison is one of the very best athletes in the "Lone Star State" and he is hungry to show that he has the ability to play quarterback on the next level. There are a couple of high profile programs that are recruiting him at the position and Oklahoma is one of them.

Richard Morrison, a 6-foot-0, 170-pound athlete from Royse City High in Texas has been enjoying the off-season.

"It has been going good. We have been working hard this off-season to get ready for the season."

"We have just been going over all of our plays and getting used to the new coach."

Currently three schools stick out for the exciting Morrison.

"Well the ones I have been interested in are Oklahoma, Texas Tech and OSU."

Oklahoma- "I have been liking OU since I was little. I have been wanting to go there. I like them a whole lot."

OSU- "I like their school. I went up to the school for baseball last year and while I was up there I checked out their school. I liked it."

TTech- I just like Tech. I like their offense."

As a junior, Morrison threw for 3,500 yards, 34 touchdowns and ran for an additional 315 yards and one score to earn District Offensive MVP, All-District, and All-State honors for his performance.

He is all set to perform at the Under Armour / Combine in Dallas tomorrow, and he will be entering the event with a clear goal in mind.

"I am looking to show people what I have. I want to show them that I am really a quarterback and I am not somebody that they are just putting an athlete at quarterback. I am looking to show everyone that I can throw the ball."

"My main thing is to look at the schools who offer me at quarterback. Right now only UNLV has offered me as a quarterback."

"Oklahoma and Nebraska are talking to me about quarterback. I am looking for quarterback first, but if I do not get the offers from the schools that I want, then I will look at wide receiver." Morrison is also looking forward to showing the coaching staffs that are recruiting him his abilities this spring.

"The only offer I have is UNLV. Oklahoma, OSU, and Tech are supposed to come down this spring whenever we start playing spring ball, and they said they are supposed to offer me then."

"It is looking promising that my top three could all step up."
