Defensive tackle Casey Walker of Garland High has some lofty expectations for the 2008 Sooner class. Now as he prepares for next season, the Oklahoma signee sets goals for the future. Scout.com talked with Walker…

The date is set and the bags are packed as Garland (TX) defensive tackle and 2008 Sooner signee Casey Walker gears up for next season at Oklahoma. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound Walker said he would head up to Norman on June 1.

Walker talked about a few of his expectations once he gets there.

"I look to win a lot of games and it will happen. We will win a lot of games," Walker said. "I would really like to play as a freshman, but if I have to red shirt, I don't mind."

Once on campus, Walker will be rooming with hometown friend Joseph Ibiloye (South Garland). His plans are to major in business management.

When it came to choosing Oklahoma last June, there were quite a few factors that played into the decision.

"Oklahoma just stood out," Walker, who had narrowed his choices down to Arizona, Oklahoma State, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma, said. "The coaches the players and the environment were just right. I just knew it was something I just could not pass up. I was also trying to leave home, but not too far.

"My mom has never missed a game and wanted her to be able to see me play. She can drive to come see me and still does not have to miss a game."

Walker said he is still projected to play defensive tackle.
