Lowe Up To 19 Offers

Oklahoma is one of the latest schools to step up to the plate for Brownwood offensive lineman Stavion Lowe. He is now up to 19 official scholarship offers. It has been thought that Texas A&M or Oklahoma would be in a good position to land his services but he now admits that he is strongly considering schools in the SEC.

Brownwood, Tex.--The spring has been a busy time for standout offensive line prospect Stavion Lowe. Rated as four-star prospect by Scout.com, Lowe says that he continues to receive interest from colleges from coast to coast as he prepares to wrap up spring football practice.

"It has been like a flood," the 6-5, 298 Lowe tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "Schools are visiting every day. I don't know a day at least one school hasn't visited.

"I'm up to 19 offers right now. Oklahoma and Tennessee are the two latest schools to offer. I think Florida and Alabama could be next.

"It's pretty exciting," he adds. "Growing up I never thought I would be in this position. Right now I'm mainly looking at the schools in the SEC. I really don't have a specific order."

One of the schools that Lowe says he's seriously considering is Auburn. A visitor to see the Tigers in action for their spring game, Lowe says he got a feel for the campus and atmosphere surrounding Auburn football and he's hoping to learn more about the program in the coming months.

"When I went down there it felt kind of like it could be a home for me," Lowe says. "I would feel good there if I went there. I felt comfortable with the coaches and got to meet some of the players, some of the offensive linemen. They treated me real well and with a lot of respect. They treat their players with a lot of respect also. The environment, you can just tell they're serious about what they're doing and why they're successful.

"It was kind of a learning experience for me," he adds. "I kind of wanted to get down there and see what it was all about. I'm more of a visual learner and a hands on type. I really enjoyed myself."

Having already visited Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Baylor in addition to Auburn, Lowe says he plans to visit Tennessee for a camp this summer, but isn't planning any more trips until his official visits begin.

As one of just a few starters returning from a 6-4 Brownwood team, Lowe says at the moment his team is putting the finishing touches on spring football practice. While he says they may not get much recognition early, he's hoping for big things as a senior.

"It's going pretty good," Lowe says. "We had a lot of seniors on our team and we're kind of young. We're evaluating who is going to be playing where. So far things have turned out pretty good. We're shooting for a championship in my last chance."
