Lechner to Camp at OU

Jon Lechner has been enjoying some success on the recruiting trail and he got some big news a few weeks ago when he received an offer from the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He will be one of the top linemen that will be coming in to OU for camp to try to earn an offer from the Sooners.

Jon Lechner, a 6-foot-6, 320-pound offensive tackle from Creighton Prep in Omaha, Neb., received some major news he found out that he had received an offer from the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

"Yeah it was pretty big," Lechner admitted. "I was pretty excited that they had that type of interest in me."

Lechner also holds official scholarship offers from Iowa State, Wisconsin, and Buffalo and schools like Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, and Kansas State are showing heavy interest.

Many kids in Nebraska grow up huge fans of the Huskers, but this does not necessarily seem to be the case with Lechner. As a matter of fact it is another school that appears to have the lead.

"I did not grow up a fan or anything," Lechner explained. "I actually really like Wisconsin a whole lot right now. I really like the way that their linemen drive block and the way they block for the run. That is a big part of my game."

Lechner is planning on coming to camp on Sunday to try and earn an official offer from OU as well. He was already on campus for a junior day and he liked what he saw.

"I will be planning on being at OU for camp," Lechner admitted. "I have not talked as much with coach Patton, but I have been there for a junior day."

Lechner will also attend camps at Kansas on June 7, Iowa on June 15, Nebraska on June 13, Wisconsin on June 21, and Iowa State on July 26.
