Karam Offered by OU?

News that one of the top OU QB targets, Josh Nunes, made a commitment to play for Tennessee was shortly followed by talk that Jacob Karam had been offered a scholarship from the Sooners. Is this indeed the case?

Jacob Karam, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound quarterback from Friendswood High in Texas did indeed confirm Scout.com via text message that he had been offered a scholarship offer to attend Oklahoma.

Karam, who has made a verbal commitment to sign with Texas Tech, consistently listed OU amongst his favorites despite the lack of an offer. It will be interesting to see if an offer from the Sooners will make him reconsider the pledge to Mike Leach and the Red Raiders.

As a junior, Karam passed for 1,951 yards (122-of-221) and 25 touchdowns. He also rushed for five scores earning Honorable Mention TSWA 4A All-State, 1st Team All-District 23-4A, and 1st Team 4A Region III Team Texas honors.
