Carter's status still a question mark

News and notes from Monday's Oklahoma football practice

The Sooners returned to the practice fields on Monday and went through a great practice today. It's obvious that the upcoming Big 12 South Championship game with Texas Tech has grabbed their attention.

Center Vince Carter was very limited today and his status for Saturday is very much up in the air. Redshirt Freshmen Chris Bush took all the snaps with the first unit at center today. Carter's playing status will be a gameday decision.

Quentin Griffin is getting more and more comfortable with the media as he talked to several reporters again today. He is the most humble star I have ever been around.

The status of redshirt freshman defensive tackle Jacob Hager is very much up in the air. Hager didn't travel with the Sooners on Saturday and that may be his status for the rest of the year.

He is in the OU doghouse right now and whether he is back with the team is very much in question. Hager does go through practice, and at this point he needs to really practice hard and take care of business both on and off the field.
