Trice as Nice

One player who has improved his stock dramatically over the off-season is wide receiver/cornerback Marcus Trice, who once again put his superior skills on display at the Texas State 7-on-7 Championship this weekend. SI was on hand to see him live for the second time this year and we got the latest news on his recruitment via a video interview.

Before we get to the video interview of the 5-foot-9, 175-pound Marcus Trice we need to break down a little about what he was able to do at the state seven-on-seven championship.

When the Mesquite Skeeters showed up at the event they were fired up to make it past the quarterfinals this year and they hitched their wagons to the play of two-way star Marcus Trice.

Right out of the gate on the very first play he snagged a pass to let it be known that he was a force to be reckoned with, and he did not look back....

Trice made play after play to lead his team to the championship game where they were narrowly defeated by Richland.

It would be easy to re-cap so many of his major catches or pass break-ups as his brightest moments, but the thing that stood out the most to me was his energy level.

I can guarantee that he was used more than any other player, but he never go tired and more importantly he never lost the confidence level that helped drive his and his teammates games onward and upward.

Trice will be a guy who is as fresh at the end of the fourth quarter as he is at the beginning of the first.

After seeing Trice up close and personal I can see why a number of schools are hot on his trail, and he definitely gets my vote for the 7-on-7 overall MVP, and that is definitely saying a lot considering that there were over 100 top teams from Texas at the event.
